ET25SWE0064 - Remote Retro-Commissioning (RRCx) Study
The proposed project will study early adopters of virtual commissioning (VCx) programs, a remote type of retro-commissioning program (RRCx), that focuses on HTR small and medium businesses. A few of these programs are in the incubator and early adopter phases and are located in regional “clumps” mostly in the Mid-West and North-East. The program features the use of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) data in several stages including benchmarking and eligibility, measure identification via analytics analysis, savings calculations with Normalized Metered Energy Consumption (NMEC) models, and ongoing savings persistence.
The project is intended to collect enough data and feedback to support adoption and modifications of RRCx services and measures into California Statewide EE Programs. The study will investigate existing drawbacks and/or barriers that may limit adoption into existing and future programs. Differences between CA and other states’ program administration and implementation may impact the success or influence variances that customize the program for the CA energy landscape.
RRCx has the potential to fill many “gaps” of service, whether to rural communities, disadvantaged communities, small and medium businesses and government entities, where traditional RCx measures require more time and resources to clarify, implement and confirm energy savings.
